The Computer Areas are situated outside the Reading Rooms in the three locations on the first, second and third floors of the New Building. This are areas where readers can access 30 desktop computers and Wi-Fi, printing capabilities, our electronic catalogues, electronic books and journals in our Digital Library, materials on our web-site, Internet resourses. Here readers also can do some research on the Internet and search for information in online databases.

The computers also provide access to materials from the National Electronic Library (an English interface is not available).

The computers may be used for access to full texts of scientific journals by Elsevier, IEEE, Springer, Wiley publishing houses, the Russian State Library's database of dissertations (with no possibility to print) and other remote recourses.

It is possible to simultaneously search a large number of full-text electronic encyclopedias and reference books in Russian and European languages.

If you have questions or need assistance, find a reference librarian on the gallery of the Digital Library Room (the second floor).

Free Services

Reference specialists can:

  • help you to use our e-catalogues and other e-resourses;
  • recommend material for your research;
  • provide training and reference materials;
  • search for items unavailable in our e-catalogues. Requests must contain all the publication data. Requests were completed within 3 working days.

Paid Services

Paid Services are provided the Information and Service Center in the Main Building.

If you are looking for extensive information on a subject, the Center staff may:

  • search for literature by topic;
  • identify relevant resources;
  • answer brief enquiries;
  • search for factual information.
