How to Order a Book or CD.

Select the "NLR Publications" category from the home page. Here you can view and request books, CDs and CD-ROMs published by the National Library of Russia.
Select a title you are interested in from the list of books/ CDs. Click on the "Details" button for full details of the title. To order the title, press the "Buy" button. The title will be added to your shopping cart. Then select "Shopping Cart" option at the upper-right corner of the screen.
You'll be asked for user name and your password. At lines "User name" and "Password" type the user name and password given to you on registration. Press the "Submit" button. Now you can order the title by filling in the step-by-step Order Form.
If you do not have a user name and password, you will obtain them after filling in and submitting the Registration Form below. This will take you to the step-by-step Order Form. You will be asked for your delivery address, delivery method and payment method. You will have a chance to review your order information before payment. You can return back to make any necessary changes at any point.
Please note!
We unfortunately cannot help you recover lost or forgotten passwords. Please do not forget your password and user name. You will need them when you access your account.

How to Order an Electronic Copy of Document

You can use the Document Delivery Service to request electronic copies of documents from the NLR collections.

To order a copy of a document you need, go to the page of the "Document Delivery Service".
Then select the "Online Order Form" option at the top left-hand corner of the screen. This will take you to the Document Delivery Order Form. Fill in the document description. Press the "Complete Order" button. This will take you to the page "Registration". You'll be asked for user name and your password. At lines "User name" and "Password" type the user name and password given to you on registration. Press the "Submit" button.
If you do not have a user name and password, you will obtain them after filling in and submitting the Registration Form below. Enter your personal details and the delivery address. You will register yourself with the Electronic Document Delivery and obtain a user name and password.
Now, your order will be numbered and confirmed later by email.
In the window that pops up, you will see your order number. If the window do not appear, your order was not received.
If you have a question about ordering, please choose the "Your Account" option and click on the "Order List" button.

How to Check on the Status of Your Order.

When you place an order through our online shop, you can check on the status of your order as often as you like.
Complete information about your order can be found in YOUR PERSONAL PAGE (Your Account). Here we let you know how your orders are being processed. You can access order status from the left navigation from any page in the site. Just click on the option "Your Account", then choose the section "Order List" and enter your user name and password in the fields indicated in the page "Registration". Next, choose the period when the orders were made and press the button "Select". You will see a convenient list of your orders that you have with us. Your orders will show an order status and their prices.

If you want to receive information about the status of your order by e-mail, check the appropriate box of the registration form. After that, you will be notified of your order status by email.

An Explanation of Order Statuses.

They are:

Received
This means that we've received your order and checked for availability in our holdings

Awaiting Customer Approval
You should have received a email from us with a summary of your order. We would like to obtain your approval of the cost estimate, so please confirm your acceptance of the charges.

Payment Confirmed
Your order payment details have been processed.

Complete
This means that we have completed your order.

Cancelled
This status will be recorded should you decided to cancel your order.

Failed
This means that your order failed, because we have not obtained your approval of the summary of your order within 30 days of cost estimate.

Declined
This indicates that your order could not be processed for any reason.

How to Cancel Your Order

If you want to cancel your order, please choose the "Your Account" option and click on the "Order List" button.
Then check the box "Select" of the appropriate item in the a list of your orders and press the button "Cancel Order".

How to Pay for Your Order

If you want to pay for your order, please choose the "Your Account" option and click on the "Order List" button.
Then check the box "Select" of the appropriate item in a list of your orders and press the button "Pay for Order". This will take to the page "Ordering. Step 2 of 2" where you'll see the total cost of your order.
Please pay with a credit card. We accept VISA, EuroCard/MasterCard, and Diners Club. To pay for an order, please, authorize your credit card on the site of electronic payment system Assist.
When your order payment details are processed, your order status will be changed to Payment Confirmed. Unfortunately, the Accounting Department of the National Library of Russia do not accept payments with cheques.
If you wish to pay by bank transfer, please contact us at the e-mail: edd@nlr.ru  We will send you an invoice with our bank account details by e-mail or by fax.

How to Get Your Order from Our FTP Server

To use our FTP-server you must be registered with the Electronic Document Delivery Service and have a user name (login) and password. You will obtain them after making a payment for your order.

Electronic copies will be available on our FTP-server within 30 days from the date of execution of the order.

Following these guidelines will help you get access to the folder where your order is stored:

  1. At line "Location" on your browser enter: ftp://ftpshop.nlr.ru
    or http://ftpshop.nlr.ru/orders/
  2. In the open window type your username (login) and password.
  3. Click with the right mouse button on the file that you want to download. In the menu box that appears, select "Save Target As..."

You may also use any of special "client" programmes to connect to FTP sites. Leading "client" programmes for FTP include: CuteFTP, Far, Windows Commander, 3D-FTP,NetLoad.

If You Have Problems to Access Your Order via FTP

If you have problems to access your order via FTP from home, please try Passive mode of ftp. You may have to change the mode that is used by the FTP client. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and later support both Standard mode and Passive mode.

How to Change the Internet Explorer FTP Client Mode:

  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. From the menu bar select "Tools", then choose "Internet Options" from the pull down menu.
  3. Click the "Advanced" tab.
  4. Under the "Browsing" node, click to clear the "Enable folder view for FTP sites" check box. Make sure this option is not selected!
  5. Check the box "Use Passive FTP".
  6. Click "OK".
