Middle of 16th cent. Composite applied covers from middle of 19th cent.
F (275 õ 180). 254 leaves.

It is written in a semi-uncial hand.
There are 4 colourful head-pieces on a gold background, afterwards, outlined in dark water-colour (fols. 1r, 52r, 110r, 144r, 254r). Large headings are written in cinnabar with use of ligatures. Initials are in cinnabar.
The later binding (the 18th century?) is made of boards, covered with brown velvet. The front board is fitted with a centre piece and corner pieces of fancy casting work. 5 rolls are attached to the back board. The binding has clasps with brass tips.
The composite applied cover consists of five relief panels of cast copper. The depiction of The Crucifixion is placed in the centre, on the centre piece in the form of a quatrefoil. The Cross is represented against a background of the wall of Jerusalem; landscape and architectural subjects of the city are full of details. The corner pieces show the Evangelists, blessed by God's divine hand.
In 1919 the manuscript came into the State Public Library along with the collection of St Sophia's Cathedral in Novgorod.
