Bookplates, printer's marks

The printer's mark of the Moscow Publishing House by Ivan Bilibin abounds in architectural details and elements. It gives an impression of a somewhat complexly composed piece. The colophon for the Ogni (Fires) Publishing House is also a rather heavy composition. In contrast to them, the logo by Dmitri Mitrokhin is notable for its aphoristic style and consummate workmanship.

Printer's Mark of Kolos (Ear) by Dmitri Mitrokhin

The Kolos (Ear) Publishing House led by Feropont Sedenko-Vityazev, that operated from 1918 to 1926, hold a special contest for its printer's mark, in which Dmitri Mitrokhin took part. The emblem by him is remarkable for the simplicity and elegance of design.
