The National Library of Russia invites you to join the live stream of the International Online Seminar "Libraries and Indigenous Peoples" which will be broadcast on July 19, 2023, 15:00 (GMT+3).
Preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of indigenous peoples is a relevant task for every library, especially under conditions of sociocultural changes caused by the transformation of society value orientations, globalization of the information sphere and digitization. Librarianship makes a significant contribution to solving this issue. The purpose of this seminar is to highlight the specifics of library activities aimed at preserving the historical and book heritage of indigenous peoples.
Library professionals from Brazil, Colombia, India, New Zealand, Russia, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Vietnam will share their experience in implementing projects on this topic and present their views on the role of libraries in preserving the historical memory and civilizational identity of indigenous peoples.
