There are quiet study spaces available for use by readers, located in the Library's New Building.
The Room for Individual Reader Use provides 22 carrels equipped with comfortable furniture, individual lighting, air conditioning.
Of these, 9 booths has computers. In these carrels, you can view items from the library collections, as well as access the Internet and all the online resources of the National Library of Russia or work independently on a computer. The necessary information can be saved to external media or printed out on a black and white printer.
Your laptop computer also may be brought into a carrel.
Booking of a booth for individual use with / without PC costs 60 rubles / 30 rubles per hour. The carrels may be booked for minimum half-hour.
Visually impaired visitors and their assistants have the right to use the carrels free of charge.
In the Room for Individual Use, there are computers for viewing disks (CDs and DVDs) from our electronic documents in the Microforms stock, as well as discs-supplements for books and magazines from other collections of the Library.
Disks from the collection of electronic documents and discs-supplements are provided for free.
