From September 20 to 22, Baku hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference "National Libraries - Keepers of the Spiritual Wealth of Nations" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the M.F. Akhundov National Library of Azerbaijan. The program included important scientific and cultural-educational events. It brought together participants from more than 30 countries, including heads of national libraries.
Director General of the National Library of Russia Vladimir Gronskii congratulated his colleagues on the significant date, and made a report "Pearls of Azerbaijani culture in the National Library of Russia". As a gift, he presented the National Library of Azerbaijan with a digital copy of the manuscript of Nizami's "Pentecost", transcribed in 1648, and a copy of a miniature from this work.
The conference program also included the 27th Annual General Meeting of the Eurasia Library Assembly and the 6th meeting of the Board of Directors of National Libraries of the member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
