Savon'ko Collection

Vladimir Savon'ko was the chairman of the Leningrad Society of Ex-Librists which existed between 1921 and 1930. In 1941, from Vladimir Savon'ko the National Library of Russia acquired the most comprehensive collection of bookplates in Russia. The collection contains 2,997 items. It includes, apart from artistic bookplates of the eighteenth to early twentieth centuries, printers' labels and stamps which were used extensively in the last century.
The Prits Department also has the remaining important card index compiled by Savon'ko, which provides complete details of materials from his collection.
